January - August 2009 - Mark Read "Peace at last" - Sat trucks in Snow - HD Polecam - Lotus Evora

2009 started as 2008 finshed, with a varied range of shoots and edits coming in.

We had the snow in February that seemed to bring the whole of the UK to a stand still but with Links Broadcast we still went out and made all our lives for Fox News.

The big news for Emagine Productions was the acquisition of HD polecam and the Flash XDR Compact Flash HD recorder. This has already been put to good use on the music video for Mark Read's "Peace at Last" single.

The Lotus Evora Story continued with shoots on the production line and up in Scotland for the official press release of the vehicle.

I was once again involved in the live tranmission of surgical procedures for Polecam and the McMinn center. This resulted in the whole crew being given the accolade of the best surgical filming crew in the world by Smith & Newphew for producing outstanding images throught the Hip Replacement procedure.

Septemeber - December 2008 - Farnborough Air Show - The Bill - Derren Brown - McFly at Wembley - CNBC and Fox News

The end to 2008 bought in a really varied work load. Polecam has been going out the door more and more. It really is a great tool in these times of slightly tighter shooting budgets and schedules.

September started off with lives from the Farnborough Air Show with Links Broadcast for CNBC. Being in the Live Position underneath the wing of the new Airbus A380 was truly amazing.

Going back to Polecam. It really has been winning fans in all areas. The Bill (Talkback Thames) had a specific shot in mind that could only be achieved with Polecam. At the same time I was able to offer shots they hadn't even thought of.

I continued my good relationship with JJ Stereo by being the Polecam operator on the "McFly - Live at Wembley" DVD which will be in shops later in 2009

FInally I've been providing my Polecam services for the new Derren Brown series (Objective Productions) which will TX in September of 2009

January - August 2008 - The new Lotus Evora - Polecam in Ibiza - Directing Genesis in HD

The big job of 2008 for Emagine Productions has been the filming of Project Eagle, now the Lotus Evora, with Lotus Cars for CBM Productions. Over the past few months we've been filming in Lapland in minus 10 degrees on a frozen lake. The Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps made famous by 'Top Gear' as the most amazing driving road in the world. High speed mini cam work at the Nurburgring in Germany and the world unvieling of the Evora at the British Motor Show.

Polecam has also been to Ibiza for JJ Stereo and Sony Ericsson for the Ibiza Rocks show currently airing on Channel 4. Look out for The Wombats and The Mystery Jets being swooped in on by me.

Finally I took the hot seat for the premiere of the "Genesis - When in Rome" DVD. I was directing from the red carpet to the end Q&A for Serpent Productions on board a Visions HD truck across 250 Odeon cinemas in the UK and over 25 in europe.

October - November 2007 - Lotus Advanced Driving - Polecam goes into Theatre - Hot Copper in Finland

October is well underway and its been as fun packed at Emagine as ever.

We completed one of the most fun projects to date with Lotus. A promotional video for their "Advanced Driving Course". With the new delivery of Mini Cams and grip equipment we were able to get some stunning shots of the Lotus Exige on the test track.

Once again we worked with Polecam and the McMinn Centre to complete a series of live programmes showing the revolutionary Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure. With the ability to shoot over the shoulder of the surgeon you can get what would normally be totally unobtainable shots of the work being undertaken.

Not for the faint hearted.

Polecam also travelled to Finland in the summer for Peninsula Films. Some truly stunning shots were achieved in the copper smelting plant for Luvata. Polecam really can go where no other camera can go.

June 2007 - Lotus - Green Screen - Fantastic Four Premiere

Its taken me a bit longer then I had hoped to add some news, but its been a hectic couple of months.

The first of many Lotus Virals was shot this month. Emagine provided all the shooting kit as well as myself filming it and Rob Fletcher lighting it. And it looked simply stunning. Its currently in post production.

Also last week we worked with Latitude 51 on a green screen shoot for Oral B. Good working with these guys again on another project.

Finally I earned my wings as a satellite engineer with Links Broadcast this month on the 'Fantastic Four 2" premiere in Leicester square.

Up coming jobs include filming the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Leeds Castle and more live surgery filming, though this time I won't be doing the Polecam work, but vision mixing it.

Emagine Productions continue to support Links Broadcast in supplying crews for 'The Graham Norton Show' and Fox News next month too.

 

April 2007 - Edit suite installed - Delorean stars in TV series - Champions League crewing - NEW Polecam video

Well April's looking busy already. The edit suite is now up and running in its new Barn location and all being well and good the Voice Over booth should be completed by the end of the month.

The Delorean became a TV star in its own right. It was used on 9 locations for the second series of 'Comedy Cuts' on ITV 2.

One of the main things happening this month for Emagine Productions will be providing crew and kit for Links Broadcast for Champiions League Football coverage at Chelsea, Manchester Utd and Liverpool.
New Polecam video up. This was just a little experiment that myself and Matt Clarke-Irons tried out up in Sheffield. I think it shows what kind of results you can get with polecam in such a restricted area. Great edit from Matt and Pete too. Check it out.

March 2007 - NEW Production base - NEW Website

Well its been a long time coming but Emagine Productions is moving to a brand new purpose built media barn situated in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.

We're still putting the finishing touches to things but it will have a custom built edit room with unique artwork on the walls and of course a broadcast quality non-linear online edit suite built in.
There will also be a soundproofed voice over room that looks in on the edit suite. All very swanky.

There will be some interesting features too... but more to follow on that. It'll be the perfect place to have your programme edited.

To coincide with all the "new-ness" you'll notice our brand new website is now up and running too. Again, this has been a long time coming but we thought if you have a new base you need a new website.

As time goes by there will be more and more added. Look out for the new Emagine Productions showreel coming soon too..... ohhh its like Chrismas!
